Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and supervision for animals in the kennel facility
- Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their specific needs
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinary staff
- Monitor the health and well-being of animals and report any concerns to the veterinary team
- Assist with grooming and bathing of animals
- Provide basic training and socialization for dogs
- Handle animals safely and securely during exams, procedures, and transfers
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, medications, and treatments
- Interact with clients and provide exceptional customer service
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care facility is preferred
- Knowledge of basic pet care, including feeding, grooming, and exercise requirements
- Familiarity with animal behavior and training techniques
- Ability to handle animals safely and confidently, including those that may be anxious or aggressive
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients and provide updates on their pets' well-being
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed
