Animal Hospital of Waynesboro is Hiring an Associate Veterinarian Near Waynesboro, VA

Overview:The Animal Hospital of Waynesboro (AHW), located at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, is currently seeking a full time Associate Veterinarian to join our team. AHW is an AAHA accredited, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical, dental, and therapeutic care. We have been serving the community for 40 years and have been AAHA accredited for over 30 years. Our compassionate team is known for providing the highest quality patient care, while also providing exceptional client service.

Dr. Greg Lorenz (now partnered with Evervet Partners) has owned and run the practice for 15 years. We currently have 6 doctors and moved to our current facility in late 2018. This building is approximately 6700 square feet.

Our well-equipped and modern facility includes 6 dedicated exam rooms plus a multi-purpose exam/euthanasia/procedures room. We also have a large, open treatment area with 3 procedure stations (including a gurney/lift table) as well as 2 dental/wet tables, an incubator/oxygen cage, and a surgery suite with 2 tables. Our hospital also includes a cat ward with boarding kennels and condos, a dog ward with kennels and glass front runs, an ICU/recovery ward with both a run and kennels and is oxygen capable, and an Isolation ward with separate entrance/kennels/fold down exam table. We also have a staff lounge with lockers and a kitchen.

We have had a fully computer based medical records system since 2008. We have used Cornerstone for our EMR for the last 6 years.

Our diagnostics include digital radiography, digital dental radiography, and ultrasound. We have a full in-house reference lab for blood analysis as well as utilizing Antech and Zoetis reference labs and Veterinary College Diagnostic labs for send-out lab testing. We perform both routine elective surgeries as well as soft tissue surgeries including splenectomy, gastrotomy, gastropexy, cystotomy, tumor removal, GDV, and some orthopedic procedures including extra-capsular ACL repair, and MPL repair. One of our doctors also does physical therapy and rehabilitation. AHW performs dental procedures including COHAT, radiography, extractions, mass removal, and other dental procedures excluding endodontics.

We practice high quality medicine and surgery. Three of our doctors have over 20 years of experience and the other two have between 3 and 5 years’ of experience. We routinely collaborate and work together on cases and share caseloads. We share a rotation for coverage on weekends (one shift every 6 weeks) and holidays.

AHW operates at an LVT to doctor ratio in excess of 2:1, plus utilizes multiple veterinary assistants, so that our doctors can focus on diagnostics, treatment, and surgery. Additionally, we very much support the advancement of our veterinary staff’s specialty interests.

We are open to considering all experience levels but are looking for an associate veterinarian with well-rounded clinical and surgical skills along with an outgoing, friendly personality and outstanding communication skills. Our associate veterinarians are expected to execute the highest standards of veterinary care for our patients, while utilizing effective communication techniques with both our clients and fellow staff members.
