Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will assist our veterinarians in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Your role will involve a variety of tasks, including assisting with examinations, administering medications, performing laboratory tests, and providing general animal care. Responsibilities: - Assist veterinarians in examining and treating animals - Administer medications and vaccines as directed by veterinarians - Perform laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis - Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures - Take and develop x-rays - Provide post-operative care to animals - Clean and maintain equipment and work areas - Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment plans - Monitor the health and well-being of animals in our care Skills: - Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, procedures, and protocols - Proficiency in laboratory procedures, including sample collection and analysis - Excellent animal handling skills and knowledge of animal behavior - Ability to provide basic pet care, including grooming, feeding, and exercise - Knowledge of dog training techniques and behavior modification methods - Understanding of animal husbandry practices, including nutrition and hygiene - Familiarity with animal physiology and common medical conditions - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail Preferred Skills: - Experience working with equine or large animals - Experience working in a kennel or animal shelter setting If you are passionate about providing exceptional care to animals and have the necessary skills and qualifications, we would love to hear from you.
