Animal Farm is Hiring a Quality Assurance Coordinator - Gorilla Mind Near Boise, ID

Gorilla Mind (gorillamind.com) is a fast growing, highly respected E-commerce Fitness & health supplements brand centering around pre-workout, post-workout, protein, and products to support all fitness goals. To support our continued growth and success, we are excited to add a full-time, Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our growing team!

Gorilla Minds Quality Assurance Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and proposing measures to correct and/or improve Gorilla Mind's final products in order to meet established quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Previous experience in quality assurance within the food, pharmaceutical, or dietary supplement industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and other relevant quality standards and regulations is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
  • Knowledge of laboratory testing equipment and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with internal teams, external vendors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify quality issues, analyze root causes, and propose corrective and preventive actions.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations, dietary supplement regulation, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive approach to continuous improvement, suggesting and implementing process enhancements to optimize quality assurance practices.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards in product quality and safety, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain contact and communication with a number of external parties such as third-party testing facilities and product manufacturers regarding quality assurance.
  • Manage and maintain records of lab test results, corrective actions and certifications for highly proficient measurement equipment.
  • Condense, compartmentalize and relay data captured from lab results and internal quality assurance testing to Managers and Officers for internal insight.
  • Retain samples from Quality Assurance analysis, track and maintain.
  • Complete paperwork regarding analysis of finished goods to determine if products should be released. Navigate third-party lab websites for sample submission.
  • Documentation of third-party lab forms for sample submission.
  • Review certified documentation from manufacturers to verify all ingredients are being applied according to specifications.
  • Receiving inspection: Upon receiving products from manufacturers or distributors, conducting visual inspections and spot checks to ensure that packaging, labeling, and product appearance meet expectations.
  • Batch testing: Sampling products from received batches and conducting basic tests (e.g., visual inspection, sensory evaluation) to verify product integrity and compliance with specifications.
  • Documentation review: Reviewing documentation provided by manufacturers or distributors, such as certificates of analysis (CoAs) and quality assurance documentation, to ensure that products meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • QC for third-party resellers focuses on verifying the quality of products received from suppliers to mitigate the risk of selling substandard or non-compliant products to consumers.
  • Writing and reviewing department SOPs.
  • Maintaining facilities compliance with federal regulations (pest, control, environmental conditions where product is stored).

Pay Transparency:

The base salary range for this position is $45,000-60,000/year. The total compensation package may include performance bonuses, benefits, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
