We are seeking an Accountant I with immediate availability that will thrive in a challenging and rewarding process-oriented environment.

Location:

·This position is located at Marine Corps Base Albany GA. Onsite.

Responsibilities:

·Provide internal Controls Support

·Compliance monitoring/support

·Complete work started on DMAG internal control program – risk matrices and statement of assurance, will require an evaluator/auditor/compliance specialist type skill

·Analyze costs and recommend changes to align with regulations or policy to support audit readiness.

·Assist in overseeing inventory and OM&S practices and make recommendations for audit improvements.

·Assist with the preparation of month end and year-end financial statements and reports.

·Review and assist with reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.

·Assist with annual audit preparation and responses as assigned.

·Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.

·Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting procedures and programs.

·Review General Ledger accounts and identify negative trends; recommend corrective action.

·Advise on Trial Balance/General Ledger Account abnormal conditions and recommend corrective actions.

·Support consolidation and compilation of month end and year end close of financial statements and accounting.

·Support GF internal controls and audit findings.

·Develop SOPs to support financial gaps ISO of GF/WCF processes as directed or upon identification of gaps through discovery.

·Assist with Asset Certification review and development

·Assist with development of required documentation in support of Journal Voucher for submission to Comptroller or higher for signature; review all supporting documentation IAW regulation and policy.

·Support WCF audit response development.

Security Clearance:

·US Citizenship required.

·Ability to obtain and maintain a US Security clearance at the minimum level of Secret.

Education and Experience:

·Accounting degree and desired CPA; demonstrated experience with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) with most current positions.

·Experience with federal government accounting desired; experience reviewing and assisting with financial statement reconciliation desired experience on Navy Working Capital Funds within the federal government.

·Experience with Navy ERP or other ERP systems.

·Accounting and internal controls experience.

• Analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot systems problems.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
