Andover High School takes pride in the success of our baseball program at all levels. We have a winning tradition which is focused on developing young student athletes. It starts at the Freshman Level.

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our baseball program as a Freshman Baseball Coach. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coaching and developing young athletes, a strong understanding of the game of baseball, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement effective practice plans that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Provide individualized coaching to players, focusing on improving their technical skills and overall understanding of the game.
• Foster a positive and supportive team environment that promotes growth and development both on and off the field.
• Collaborate with other coaches within the baseball program to ensure consistency in coaching philosophy and player development.
• Attend all practices, games, and team meetings as required by the schedule.
• Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school administrators to provide updates on team progress and address any concerns.

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school or youth level is highly preferred but not mandatory
• Strong knowledge of baseball rules, strategies, and techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
• Availability to attend practices and games as scheduled, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid coaching certification (we provide this as well as CPR and First Aid).

Time Committments:

• Tryouts/season start on March 18th
• Typical practice schedule is 3:15pm - 5:15pm after school on non game days
• Average about 3 games a week starting mostly at 4:15pm
• Expectations that team will practice or have a game 5-6 days a week with one mandatory scheduled off day

Stipend of $3,300-$4,000
