Anderson & Wood Construction is Hiring a Technical/Project Engineer Near Meridian, ID

Summary:

This job posting is for a Technical/Project Engineer that supports project and engineering efforts of the Anderson & Wood engineering department by providing technical engineering, project management and leadership. This role is accountable for providing technical engineering and leadership to multiple complex capital installation projects across multiple site locations. To engineer, facilitate design, support and manage construction projects and implement new or existing equipment, processes to deliver best value to the business and to the client.

Responsibilities:

· Lead and direct internal and external engineering and construction teams in establishing the appropriate designs, to ensure the project meets intended results, scope, budget & timeline

· Provides Project Management leadership on a Project Team to facilitate design and construction of projects by planning, directing and delegating work assignments, making purchasing decisions, scheduling, etc.

· Responsible for project design, managing project cost, along with delivering on critical schedule and performance for project solutions

· Directs, develops and accountable for; scope development, equipment specifications, bidding & evaluation, assembling construction bid packages, cost estimating, cost control, gaining alignment with operations and key stakeholders, and providing oversight to construction & start-up leadership.

· Assesses and aligns with key stakeholders the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering solutions

· Responsible for preparing and gaining alignment on engineering proposals, feasibility studies and vendor/construction packages.

· Leads and is accountable for the development and evaluation of plans and success criteria (often by others) to ensure that project and/or system performance meets business objectives for a variety of projects and activities.

· Responsible for leading the communication of project updates to the team, senior management and key stakeholders.

Requirements:

· B.S. Degree in Engineering from 4-year college or university or equivalent experience. Electrical engineering degree is most preferred.

· two plus years related experience and/or training

· Electrical Engineering License is desirable

· Extensive capital projects and budget development experience on large capital projects

· Knowledgeable of Substations, high and medium voltage equipment is a plus.

· Extensive consultant and construction people management experience will be required at this level.

· Previous experience managing technical projects or groups is expected.

· Excellent interpersonal, and written and verbal communications skills.

· Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Skills:

· Possess and can demonstrate effective thinking and behaviors as it relates to leadership skills and competencies. (esp. passion, collaboration, urgency and conflict resolution)

· Ability to lead multiple small projects across multiple sites simultaneously; including compressed project (and installation) timelines.

· Strong business acumen to understand and deliver the most cost-effective technical solution to the business

· Has led the design for multiple capital projects

· Possess the ability to contribute significantly to the solution of applied problems

· Clearly understands and can review and communicate project risks to project team members, stakeholders and leadership.

· Is familiar with, and follows and engineering process (from high level concept through detailed execution and start-ups)
