Anderson-Negele is Hiring an Electronics Assembler Near Fultonville, NY

We are seeking a first shift (M-F 6:00AM-2:30PM) Electronics Assembler at our Fultonville, NY location! This role assembles printed circuit boards (PCB's) by using surface mount technology and through-hole technology, functional testing and various electro-mechanical assembly operations. We are looking for someone who can read and interpret product documentation (drawings and specification sheets), perform basic machining operations and visually inspect all workmanship. As an Electronic Assembler you can expect to be our go-to for driving continuous improvement in the electronics production process.

In this role you will:

Perform any combination of the following duties in the assembly of electronic components onto PCB's according to specifications, using hand tools.

  • Reads worksheets and wiring diagrams, receives verbal instructions, or follows sample board to determine assembly duties, and selects components, such as transistors, resistors, relays, capacitors, and integrated circuits.
  • Twists, bends, trims, strips, or files wire leads of components or reams holes in boards to insert wire leads.
  • Inserts color-coded wires in designated holes and clinches wire ends, using pliers. Press-fits (mounts) component leads onto board.
  • Places plastic insulating sleeves around specified wire and shrinks sleeves into place, using heat gun.
  • Applies sealer or masking compound to selected parts of board to protect parts from effects of wave solder process.
  • Crimps or solders wire leads and joints on underside of board, using soldering iron, to route and connect lead wires to board and between individual components.
  • Installs heat sinks, sockets, faceplates, and accessories on boards.
  • Inspects raw parts and populated PCBs (with and without microscope assistance).
  • Document job and process information on appropriate travelers and forms.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work area in a 5S format.
  • Work with others in developing the highest quality printed circuit processing methods.

On your first day, we’ll expect that you’ll have:

  • 2-year degree in Electrical Technology or High School Diploma plus 2 years of on-the-job experience.
  • Manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude required.
  • Ability to solder through-hole and SMT components to PCB’s and work from electrical schematics.
  • Prior experience operating surface mount equipment (of any make) desired.
  • Ability to troubleshoot from the component level to the circuit board level desired.
  • Interpersonal skills that contribute to a positive work environment (teamwork, communication, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities).
