Responsibilities:

A School Resource Officer’s responsibility is to enforce state and local laws relating to public safety and welfare under limited supervision and while working under stressful, high-risk conditions. Work performed includes providing a safe environment for students; protecting the property, facilities, citizens, staff, and performing other duties assigned. He/she shall serve as a liaison between law enforcement and school, school administrators and local juvenile authorities while adhering to all departmental policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

6 months training beyond High School

Up to 1-year experience

Class 1 Law Enforcement Officer, certified by the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.
