Performance Responsibilities
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the principal.
Valid South Carolina teaching certificate
Meets Highly Qualified requirements as defined by the ESEA Legislation

Job GoalUnder general supervision, instructs students in performing arts skills and develops and enhances their abilities in
speech and drama
Performance Responsibilities
- Teaches concepts and skills in speech and drama that is appropriate for development level of students and uses multiple sources and formats.
- Prepares lesson plans for daily classroom activities; organizes classroom for daily instruction.
- Maintains and reinforces appropriate expectations for student performance and responsibility and student expectations for completing assignments.
- Develops and enhances students’ abilities through practice and performances.
- Prepares students for solo, stage and group productions.
- Selects and requests appropriate instructional supplies, materials, and equipment; maintains inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment needed for instructional purposes.
- Prepares and administers assessments and provides feedback to students.
- Meets with parents to discuss student performance, activities, etc.
- Cooperates with school administration in providing performances in school productions.
- Maintains confidentiality of student records.
- Works cooperatively with the district.
- Works cooperatively within a team of special area teachers.
- Participates in professional development programs.
- Stays abreast of South Carolina Drama Standards.
- Performs other duties as directed.
