The goal of the Assistant Banquet Manager is to effectively and proactively monitor the daily functions of the Banquet Department. This also includes working and communicating closely with all hotel departments to ensure a successful and effective event resulting in a positive guest experience.

As the Assistant Banquet Manager you will be responsible for:

• Proactively reviewing staffing and equipment needs

• Ensuring coordination and execution of all events with Culinary, Stewarding and Events

• Maintaining a high-energy, positive, professional appearance

• Short- and long-term banquet functions in the front and the back of the house

• Creating an environment that establishes high standards of quality service (i.e. effective hiring, training, promotion and continuous reinforcement)

• Administrative tasks including, but not limited to: payroll, facilitating reports, forecasting, POS procedures, inventory and budget for F&B functions

This role is a highly detailed role within the hotel to complete event requirement and create an appealing experience for guests.

Assistant Banquet Manager must have open availability and be able to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Refined verbal communication skills

• Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk moderate distances

• Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate weight (about 50 pounds)

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

• Proficient in basic computer skills

• Previous experience as Banquet Captain highly preferred

• Previous experience working hotel events / Banquets for a year in a full-service hotel
