Anchor Hocking is currently hiring a Machinist position to work in our Machine Shop. Anchor Hocking employees are eligible to be admitted to the USW and eligible for benefits after 30 days.
MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT
Engine lathes, milling machines, CNC/NC machines, radial drills, tool cutters, grinders, saws, and similar or equivalent equipment required to complete the job.
GAUGES AND TOOLS
All types of jigs, fixtures, holding devices, cutting tools, drills, reamers, taps, measuring gauges, and similar or equivalent tools/equipment. Must have own personal tools as designated by supervision.
PRODUCTS OR MATERIALS
Any machinable material, production machines and similar or equivalent products and materials.
WORK GUIDES AND INSTRUCTIONS
General verbal and occasional written instructions or sketches, complicated blueprints, and operating manuals. Capable of reading, using or converting English or metric units on blueprints.
QUALITY REQUIREMENTS
To perform work of acceptable quality and quantity at least cost in accordance with plant operating procedures. Maintain overall quality awareness.
WORK DESCRIPTION
-Set up and operate machine tools to consistently produce work of acceptable quality.
-Plan and lay out operations required to perform various jobs.
-Determine operational details from blueprints including proper speeds and feeds in order to obtain desired results.
-Use proper gauges to inspect all work in order to verify acceptable tolerances.
-Perform general maintenance on small cutting tools.
-Responsible for machine maintenance or rebuilds in production departments as assigned.
-Develop new parts for experimental purposes.
-Maintain quality housekeeping and good safety practices in the work area.
-Do other work as required by supervision.
-Assemble, dismantle, and repair machinery with or without drawings or sketches as required.
-Performs work under one or more of the commonly considered machinist trade classifications of bench worker, lathe hand, or mill hand as required.
-Responsible for fitters and gauges for production departments.
-Program CNC/NC equipment as required.
-Maintain detailed work records, logs, computer records, routings, set up sheets or similar paperwork as required
-Determine material details to obtain desired results.
-Perform tasks in a self-directed manner.
