Role Description:

As the Benefits Specialist, you will help to plan, develop and oversee our benefits programs and initiatives. As part of the HR team, you’d be assisting our 900 associates, supervisors, and managers with questions about their benefits, including planning and conducting open enrollment meetings, processing benefits enrollment in our HRIS system and answering general benefits questions. You will also be assisting with our 401k plan administration; managing 401K enrollments, deferral changes, audits, and 401k compliance. In addition, you’d be responsible for reconciling monthly billing for all benefit plans and invoices and discuss any billing or other benefit related concerns with our many vendors.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Data entry for benefits into carriers and HRIS system
  • Completes invoices and self-billings for benefits.
  • Responsible for monthly reconciliations of benefits to vendors.
  • Assist with Open Enrollment communications and meetings.
  • Resolve associate issues with insurance providers.
  • Consult with associates about eligibility and qualifying event issues.
  • ACA reporting
  • Coordinate leave of absence management with vendor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 3-5 years of previous HR experience, with 1-2 years of experience with benefit plan administration, including health & welfare plans, and wellness programs, strongly preferred.
  • Experience with vendor integration and management, 401k administration and a working knowledge with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and other federal and state regulations governing employee benefits and employment.
  • Excellent computer skills, fully proficient in MS Office; especially Excel
  • Detail-oriented, problem solver, critical thinker
