- Perform histology procedures including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and coverslipping.
- Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
- Perform quality control and assurance activities to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Maintain accurate records of all tests performed and results obtained.
- Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely test results.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or completion of an accredited histology technician program.
- Certification as a Histology Technician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) is required.
- Florida State Histology (HT) license is required*
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Previous experience working in a clinical laboratory or hospital setting.
- Familiarity with routine histology procedures and equipment.
- Proficient in laboratory techniques including specimen collection processing and aseptic technique.
- Strong attention to details. Familiarity with laboratory SOPs and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
