All that Amwins does is centered around the principle to support the production roles and to assist them in building a successful book of business based in deep and long-term relationships with retail agent partners.
Amwins Access - Admitted Placement Services (APS) has an opportunity for a Vice President position responsible for producing & developing a commercial admitted book of business.
The primary function of this Vice President position is selling, marketing, underwriting and placement of commercial admitted lines business. The Vice President is responsible for marketing appointed agents to generate new commercial submissions and making coverage placement with our strategic commercial carrier partners. The Vice President reviews the applications and works with our carrier portals or underwriters to quote and bind commercial admitted placements on behalf of appointed APS retail agents.
The Vice President leverages their understanding of the commercial insurance landscape and respective underwriting appetites of our carrier partners to determine available markets and build a profitable book of business. The Vice president is given wide latitude in promoting and marketing products, designing portfolios of products and solutions for potential clients, advising potential and prospective clients, and performing other consultative or servicing activities in support of a client’s use of Amwins’ products.
As the Vice President grows and develops a book of business, they have the opportunity to hire associates on their team to foster continued growth and expansion of their book of business.
Join our team as an Amwins Access – Admitted Placement Services (APS) Vice President.
Each employee is a vital leader of our production teams. Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop agency marketing plans to drive new business production and renewal retention with a customer-oriented focus
  • Sell and distribute Amwins Admitted products including in person agency visits to develop that business.
  • Build relationships with agencies and analyze accounts to prioritize opportunities
  • Ensure quality and volume of submissions to achieve clearly defined growth goals
  • Utilize independent judgment and market knowledge to evaluate risk on a case by case and book of business basis
  • Liaise with carrier personnel and retail agents daily to assist with placement, retention, and resolution of risks
  • Maintain discretion over commission splits pursuant to agency relationships, product, cost structure, etc.
  • Develop highly collaborative internal relationships and follow-up on cross selling opportunities when appropriate
  • Observe market shifts and proactively facilitate changes with our Global Support Team (GST), Branch Leaders and Regional Leaders
  • Offer creativity and passion for finding solutions; always considering the larger scope of the agency relationship for any solution provided
  • Play a key role in achieving contingency status with multiple carriers through appropriate selection of risks and attaining (or exceeding) growth targets
  • Maintain technical industry expertise through continuing education and developmental opportunities
  • Regarded and utilized as a valuable team member within the organization
  • Participate in special projects (book rolls), national expansion roll outs, Amwins initiatives and interdepartmental teams and task force projects
We are looking for people with:
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial account management experience in a retail insurance agency or wholesaler environment preferred
  • Undergraduate degree or related field required (equivalent agency experience will be considered)
  • Working knowledge of underwriting principles for property and casualty insurance (ARM, CPCU, P/C agent license appreciated)
  • Experience with commercial admitted carrier products and rating platforms
  • Strong sales, negotiation and marketing skill sets with a desire to build a book of business
  • Demonstrated experience with strategic analysis, decision making, customer service, teamwork and communication skill sets
  • P&C license preferred
