Responsibilities:
As a Lead Premium Specialist, you will:
  • Workload Management: Plan, prioritize, and delegate day-to-day workload for the assigned team in coordination with the manager.
  • Objective Achievement: Support the Manager in achieving set team objectives.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Serve as a resource lead for the assigned team, guiding team members through problem-solving, process updates, and technology changes.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with your Manager and Director to analyze existing systems, ensuring current processing needs are met and planning for future modifications, improvements, and internal controls.
  • Efficiency Management: Maintain team efficiency systems, ensuring operational procedures are followed, and assigned tasks are completed accurately and timely.
  • Process Documentation: Update team process manuals and documentation in collaboration with the Finance Operations Trainer as process improvements are implemented.
  • Compliance: Ensure all carrier requirements are met to ensure accurate premium processing. Adhere to accounting policies, controls, and procedures, maintaining an orderly accounting filing system.
  • Training Facilitation: Collaborate with the Finance Operations Trainer to facilitate new hire and ongoing team member training.
  • Culture Building: Foster a team culture of collaboration, accountability, positive mindset, and diligence, valuing unique backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Promote cross-functional department collaboration.
  • Special Projects: Handle other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you'll need:
  • Experience: 1 years of Accounting or Finance experience required.
  • Education: College degree or 2 to 3 years of equivalent work experience required.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and planning skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Time Management: Ability to multitask and actively manage and prioritize workload in a high-volume environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Industry Experience: Experience working in the insurance industry or within Premium Accounting is a plus.
  • Leadership Experience: 1-3 years of strong leadership and/or management experience is strongly preferred.
