AmTrim is Hiring a Tooling Engineer Near Sidney, OH

Job Summary:

In this role, you will professionally supervise all aspects of tooling operations, encompassing maintenance, support, and the integration of new and transitioned tooling programs. Additionally, you will provide hands-on management of tool room functions, ensuring efficient departmental operations. You also will assume direct accountability for tool room activities, including die repair and maintenance, supervision of tool and die makers, apprenticeship program development, and management of tool room systems and equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the commercial team to support customer needs, aiding in the development of new business opportunities through product and tool design assistance.
  • Ensures proper repair and maintenance of dies to sustain production, prioritizing tool room resources according to production and launch demands.
  • Delivers timely tooling support and troubleshooting to production departments, liaising with tool engineers to ensure readiness of new dies for production.
  • Takes charge of tooling projects from customer concept to production implementation, overseeing the entire lifecycle.
  • Actively explores innovative tooling design concepts, such as materials and processes, to enhance cost-efficiency and competitive advantage.
  • Ensures optimized tool designs for easy servicing, promoting long-term usability.
  • Facilitates seamless integration of tooling into the manufacturing process to facilitate successful product launches.
  • Collaborates closely with the sales team and customers to drive new business initiatives.
  • Identifies opportunities for efficiency enhancements and provides recommendations to management, actively participating in planning meetings and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Supports manufacturing by continually upgrading existing tooling to meet or surpass performance standards related to material yield, scrap, and costs.
  • Maintains regular communication with employees regarding safety protocols, quality standards, and company policies, ensuring adherence to Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Equipment Safety Analysis (ESA), and Area Safety Analysis (ASA).
  • Assumes responsibility for the fit, form, function, quality, and integrity of tool design work for turnkey engineered products.
  • Offers responsive tooling support and troubleshooting to production departments, coordinating with launch teams, other tooling resources, and production to ensure readiness of new dies for production.

Qualified candidates must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. American Trim does not anticipated providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-18 status).
