Overall Responsibility:

Support the production team through providing expert quality control by conducting scheduled and regular testing and observation. Providing guidance and support when identifying and solving quality issues; while acting as a customer liaison providing exceptional customer service and feedback when handling quality issues.

Accountabilities:

1. Responsible to monitor all aspects of welding, inclusive of the following:
2. To perform visible and regular inspections or to verify that the work inspected and
records maintained conform to the requirements of the customer & criteria set out by the company.
3. To conduct welding audits ensuring that all records are maintained so as to conform to the
requirements of the applicable standards and other contract, customer or regulatory
requirements
4. To ensure that welded assemblies conform to the relevant workmanship and acceptance
criteria
5. To determine and to recommend improvement solutions and robot parameter changes in the
event of poor weld quality and characteristics
6. To assist in the deployment of new weld processes and equipment
7. To assist in the deployment of best practices and weld parameters with respect to robotic welding applications within a production environment
8. To monitor and to assess welding output produced through the robotic process to determine
the integrity, quality and other characteristics of the weld
9. Promptly and accurately conduct lab, testing as per outlined schedule and work instructions
10. Act as on site customer liaison when handling quality issues/ concerns.
11. Follow all inspection and testing procedures and requirements.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

• Proficient in MS Office products (advanced Excel and PowerPoint)
• Working knowledge of CMS or similar MRP system.
• Process control, problem identification and solving
• Experience working in an ISO 9001 and TS16949 environment
• Working experience in performing calibration of equipment
• Experience working with SPC and continuous improvement projects
• Ability to understand technical drawings/specifications
• Experience with metrology
