RESPONSIBILITIES
Job duties include the following: Reviewing and generating work orders for all samples received; Performing required analysis and testing of petroleum samples (Gasoline, Diesel, Jet Fuel) for API Gravity, Dry Vapor Pressure Equivalent, Viscosity, Flash point, cloud and Pour Point, Distillation, Gas Chromatography, Octanes, Hydrocarbon content and sulfur content among many others; Performing quality assurance/quality control chemistry laboratory testing in accordance with applicable standards and regulations; Evaluating QC Charts to monitor long term accuracy, by performing quality checks on instrumentation and being able to interpret validity of results in order to verify that instrumentation may remain in service; Collaborating with a team of lab technicians and supervisors to efficiently perform round-the-clock calibration and analysis of Gas Chromatography ICP-MS, SFC, IC, PLC, pH meter and viscometers, amongst others using ASTM methodology for analytical testing and reporting; Preparation of corresponding analytical reports; Validating all analysis by performing quality control experiments regularly; Operating and maintaining and calibrating laboratory instruments, equipment and supplies; Assisting in record keeping of instrument calibration, standards and reagent preparations; and Providing support on various project/duties as the need may arise, such as quarterly data reviews and audit preparations.
REQUIREMENTS
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field plus one (1) year of relevant experience. Experience must include: One (1) year of experience performing required analysis and testing of petroleum samples (Gasoline, Diesel, Jet Fuel) for API Gravity, Dry Vapor Pressure Equivalent, Viscosity, Flashpoint, cloud and Pour Point, Distillation, Gas Chromatography, Octanes, Hydrocarbon content and sulfur content.
