Job Description:

The RN Director of Cath Lab is a pivotal leadership role within our healthcare organization, responsible for overseeing the operations, staff management, and clinical care delivery within the Catheterization Laboratory department. The incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring the provision of high-quality patient care, adherence to regulatory standards, and the attainment of departmental goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational Oversight:
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Cath Lab department, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and optimal resource utilization.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate departmental policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Monitor and analyze departmental performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance operational effectiveness and patient outcomes.
  • Staff Management and Development:
  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate clinical staff within the Cath Lab department, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to staff members, promoting professional growth and development opportunities.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, address performance issues, and recognize outstanding achievements within the team.
  • Clinical Care Delivery:
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered care within the Cath Lab.
  • Oversee patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care delivered in the Cath Lab, adhering to evidence-based practices and standards of care.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and satisfaction, implementing quality improvement initiatives as necessary to enhance the overall patient experience.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and organizational policies related to Cath Lab operations and patient care.
  • Conduct regular audits, reviews, and risk assessments to identify and address potential compliance issues or quality concerns.
  • Collaborate with quality management and risk management teams to develop and implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
  • Develop and manage the departmental budget, forecasting expenses, monitoring financial performance, and identifying opportunities for cost containment or revenue generation.
  • Optimize resource allocation, including staffing, equipment, and supplies, to support efficient and effective Cath Lab operations while maintaining high-quality patient care standards.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in cardiac catheterization lab nursing, with progressive leadership responsibilities.
  • Certification in Cardiovascular Nursing (CVN) or Cardiac-Vascular Nursing (CVRN) preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to effectively manage a diverse team, foster collaboration, and drive results.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, quality standards, and best practices related to catheterization lab operations and patient care.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
