The AmplifyBio ecosystem is comprised of three distinct business units: ADOC (South San Francisco, CA)– Amplify's Discovery, Optimization, and Characterization laboratories: ASET (West Jefferson, OH) – Amplify's Safety, Efficacy, and Toxicology Site; and the most recently opened AMEC (New Albany, OH) – Amplify's Manufacturing Enablement Center.

About ADOC South San Francisco, CA. AmplifyBio’s discovery optimization and characterization unit (ADOC) establishes critical product characterization benchmarks, optimizes efficacy, and identifies new targets and strategies for clients preparing to scale up the production of therapeutic candidates. The site also houses GMP manufacturing suites, and quality control labs available to clients. Based on broad experience in cell and gene therapy manufacturing, this group seeks to address the widening gap between R&D and manufacturing CMC.

AmplifyBio is seeking to hire a Sr. Project Manager/Project Manager to join our growing team!!!

The ideal candidate is an experienced Project Manager who will be responsible for working closely with multiple teams at the ADOC site (e.g. Discovery and Development, Manufacturing Sciences and Technology, and Quality Control) to advance business-critical internal and client projects focused on the discovery, development and manufacturing of advanced therapies and generation of new capabilities to support clients.

Ideal candidates should possess a strong scientific and technical background in the advanced therapy space and the ability to lead complex projects consisting of multiple workstreams and sub-projects.

What You’ll Do Here:

  • Provide project management expertise to develop plans and monitor progress on multiple projects revolving around new technology assessment, new capability development, therapeutic discovery proof-of-concept, and process and method development.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneous within the constraints of scope, quality, time, and cost.
  • Monitor, mitigate, and manage project issues and risks by proactive assessment and planning with stakeholders and governance committees.
  • Drive collaboration and coordination across functions to facilitate the planning process, establishment of scope, milestones, deliverables, and creation & maintenance of comprehensive timelines that integrate available resources, dependencies, budget, priorities, and other constraints as appropriate.
  • Provide advanced support for and/or take a leadership role in the facilitation of team meetings, including tasks such as meeting requests, scheduling, agenda creation, minutes documentation, and deck preparation.
  • Develop and maintain project management tools to track overall team progress, including project dashboards for Leadership that give a clear snapshot of overall project health.
  • Ensure project plans and objectives are clearly established, documented, and communicated.
  • Communicate professionally and collaborate effectively with clients to integrate timelines and deliverables.

Experience Required:

  • Possess a degree in a scientifically relevant field of study (B.S., M.S., or Ph.D.).
  • For candidates with a B.S., a minimum of 8 years of total relevant experience is required, including at least 4 years in a project management role.
  • Candidates with an M.S. should have 6 years of total relevant experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a project management role.
  • Candidates with a Ph.D. should have 3 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a project management role.
  • Demonstration of big-picture thinking and high-level planning with the ability to navigate comfortably in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment and the ability to operate at both big-picture and tactical levels.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with internal and external key stakeholders and hold oneself and others accountable for commitments in a productive and collaborative manner.
  • Business acumen and solid relationship management skills with a focus on cross-functional collaboration and customer service.
  • Proactive problem solver able to promote ideas persuasively and build on the ideas of others in a constructive manner.
  • Command of tools to efficiently communicate complex ideas to a wide array of audiences by providing project summaries to Leadership and updates for the wider company to ensure alignment across disciplines.

Desired But Not Required:

  • Experience with cancer immunotherapies or other advanced therapies (cell, gene, mRNA).
  • Prior experience working in cell therapy and oncology research.
  • Expertise in using and/or developing resource management tools.
  • Prior experience working successfully in a small rapidly growing biotech company.
