Responsibilities

The Home Automation Project Manager plays a critical role in managing custom residential systems installations, ensuring an exceptional client experience, optimizing profitability, maintaining industry installation standards, and setting projects up for long-term success. Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating smooth project transitions from the sales and finance team to project completion.
  • Maintaining clear and effective communication with executive leadership.
  • Collaborating with the technical team and support staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Establishing and maintaining communication with various stakeholders, including clients, general contractors, architects, designers, engineers, consultants, and internal team members.
  • Working closely with the system design team to communicate wiring design, layout, appearance, and programming requirements.
  • Managing project schedules, proactively communicating progress, and keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Coordinating and providing project documentation created by the design team for access by technicians, support team, and the design build team.
  • Managing equipment and material procurement for projects, ensuring timely availability.
  • Reviewing and responding to Daily Field Reports from Technicians and issuing task assignments.
  • Maintaining detailed task lists for each project, including communications, coordination, and issue resolution.
  • Handling change orders when necessary due to construction changes or new information.
  • Conducting site walk-throughs, inspections, and training as needed.
  • Scheduling and conducting project reviews and update meetings with various teams.
  • Meeting with clients, designers, and builders to review expectations.
  • Presenting the close-out package to clients or stakeholders upon project completion.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in the AV/Custom Integration Industry.
  • 3 years of Project Management experience.
  • Client-focused with a positive attitude.
  • Proficiency in wired/wireless networks, lighting control, automation, and AV systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Knowledge of current industry trends.
  • Experience in team leadership with a servant leadership mentality.
