The Role -

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking aCustomerQuality Engineerto work out of its state-of-the-art facility inSidney, NY.

TheCustomer Quality Engineerwill provide leadership and technical expertise to identify, resolve, and eliminate quality issues and problems. The primary focus of the role will be to work with various manufacturing departments in response to defective material returned from customers and initiate corrective/preventative quality actions. The role merits the opportunity to improve the organization while working with multiple functional groups such as customers/sales/process engineering/design engineering/reliability on quality issues.

A hybrid work schedule option will be available following an initial onsite training period.

The key responsibilities of theCustomerQuality Engineerinclude, but are not limited to:

Interface with customers to address product quality concerns, actions, and improvements.

Advocate for Continuous Improvement and Zero-Defect Mission of related manufacturing and business processes.

Analyze and discuss quality concerns with assigned manufacturing departments.

Develop a technical proficiency and communicate thoroughly with customers.

Identify, prioritize, and address all significant and repetitious quality problems.

Utilize LEAN principles and Six Sigma Methodology in pursuit of the Amphenol Aerospace Zero Defect Mission.

Complete failure analysis on customer returns, organize containment activities, and issue corrective actions.

Initiate and verify the effectiveness of formal Corrective Actions.

Maintain thorough knowledge of ISO-9001, AS-9100, Amphenol's Quality Manual, and subordinate procedures.

Work extensively with Amphenol's computer system, both the AS400 main frame and the local PC network.

Salary: $61,500 - $85,000

The Person -

The key skills and qualities of aCustomerQuality Engineerat Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

Four-year degree in engineering discipline or similar

Some applicable experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment preferred

Knowledge of statistical methods

Computer fluency

Software: Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, and Data3

Interpersonal skills

Ability to freely travel throughout a manufacturing floor environment

Some lifting and carrying of small loads may be required

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

25% travel required, ability to travel to other plants and/or customer facilities as needed
