Mobile Front End Developer

Job Overview:

The Mobile Front End Developer will be responsible for building the client-side of our web applications. You’ll translate our company and customer needs into functional and appealing interactive applications, ensuring a great user experience.

Location: Hybrid (must reside in Los Angeles, California)

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Neuroscience teams to understand their needs and develop effective cloud-based tools.
• Collaborate with a team to define, design, build, and ship new features.
• Provide technical support for clients using our tools and applications.
• Maintain and improve website.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
• Use markup languages like HTML to create user-friendly web pages.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed.
• Design mobile-based features.
• Collaborate with back-end developers and web designers to improve usability.
• Recommend new tools and libraries to help with front-end development; create a library of UI Components.
• Contribute to the development of the next version of our front-end architecture.
• Write tests to ensure high code quality.
• Be a champion of accessibility and site performance.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in cloud engineering, with demonstrated expertise in at least 1 of the following platforms: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with DevOps and Linux environments.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes and its ecosystem.
• Strong ability to learn new technologies quickly and independently.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in collaborating with diverse teams.
• Appreciation of beautiful user experiences.
• Understanding of performance optimizations in the browser.
• Curiosity around accessibility on the web and how to optimize experiences for end users with different needs.
• Solid knowledge of the Android SDK - Advanced Android UI Skills (Fragments, Custom view components).
• Experience writing multithreaded and Networked apps.
• Expert level debugging and analysis skills using ADB.
• Experience with the application submission/provisioning process.
• Excellent communication skills in both technical and non-technical discussions.
• Have designed and developed a complete Android app from top to bottom.
• Expert knowledge of IntelliJ or Android Studio.
• Experience with OpenGL or the NDK and high-performance graphics code.
• Web Services experience as it relates to mobile apps.
• Solid understanding of Android UI paradigms from Gingerbread to Oreo (Material Design).
• Experience with protocol buffers.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills:

• Mobile development experience.
• Familiarity with real-time and ML applications and systems.

Annual Salary Range*: $120,000 - $160,000 (plus discretionary bonus plan)

*The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors.
