Job Purpose

The Facilities Technician is tasked with day-to-day facilities activities, including general maintenance tasks and ensuring that the facility is well organized, safe, and clean. The position conducts routine inspections of premises and equipment, performs preventative maintenance, basic repairs and completes work orders in a timely and professional fashion.

Key Responsibilities

• Preventive maintenance and general care of facilities.

• Maintains a safe and clean workplace.

• Works on improvements and repairs to buildings and grounds.

• Completes assigned projects including repairing walls, insulating, painting and finish carpentry.

• Responds to electrical, plumbing, fire alarm and weather-related emergencies and may be on call past regular hours.

• Moves and assembles equipment and furniture.

• Responsible for snow removal including shoveling, and snow blower equipment.

Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Education:

· Able to perform general maintenance tasks such as basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and other duties as required.

· Ability to lift up to 60lbs.

· Standing on feet for long periods of time.

· Working from a ladder safely for extensive amounts of time as required.

· Previous exposure to Cleanrooms a plus.

· Must thrive working in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, efficient with attention to detail.

· Good interpersonal skills, able to connect and communicate effectively to internal staff and external vendors or service organizations.

· Adaptable to ongoing changes

· Must work well with a team and independently with a positive attitude.
