JOB SUMMARY:

An individual who, under supervision by non-medical personnel, provides personal assistance to individual with activities of daily living but not limited to such as housekeeping, personal hygiene, feeding and dressing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 18 years of age or older, with a minimum of ninth (9th) grade education, High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must successfully completion of agency’s training for personal care services.

• Have a minimum of six (6) month experience preferred.
• Must be able to meet all agency condition of employment regarding provision requirements.
• Speaks, reads, and writes and able to communicate effectively in English.
• Must have reliable transportation and fulfill assignments with reliability and punctuality.
• MUST pass background check required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide Personal Assistance Services care which may include, but NOT limited to:

• BATHING
• DRESSING
• EXERCISING
• GROOMING
• TOILETING
• CLEANING
• LAUNDRY
• SHOPPING
• ESCORT
• ROUTINE HAIR/SKIN CARE
• MEAL PREPARATION/FEEDING
• TRANSFER/AMBULATION
• Other as outlined on service plan.

FUNCTIONAL ABILITIES:

- Moderate to heavy lifting maybe required.

- Moderate to longer period of standing and walking maybe required.

- Moderate to heavy stress secondary to client acuity maybe encountered.

- Can carry bundles upstairs weighing up to 10 pounds.

- Must be able to stoop and bend.

- Must be able to travel to prospective client's place of residence.

- Must be able to hear and effectively communicate in English.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $9.50 - $12.00 per hour
