    Summary

    Under the direction of the General Manager, the EHS Manager responsible to eliminate or control hazardous conditions resulting from human error, equipment and machine operations that may lead to human injury and/or property damage. This role must apply advanced mathematical techniques; professional engineering principles, methods and techniques; safety-related elements of the physical sciences, ergonomics, psychology and physiology; and safety principles, standards, practices and analytical techniques.

    Primary Responsibilities and Duties

    • Develops, maintains ISO standard and certification
    • Assist in identification, analysis and control of occupational hazards requiring the application of professional engineering knowledge, skill and abilities
    • Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations
    • Audits Safety systems, initiating corrective action as required
    • Trains, implements, sustains & audits process as needed to maintain safety
    • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
    • Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
    • Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
    • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
    • Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
    • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
    • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
    • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
    • Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements

    • BS/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred
    • Knowledge and experience with OSHA (300 300a, NIOSHA
    • Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
    • Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies
    • Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
    • Excellent organizational and motivational skills
    • Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
    • Valid qualification in occupational health and safety
    • Must be able to work in the US

    Required Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field, Master’s degree is preferred.
    • Minimum of five years of previous, relevant to safety in a manufacturing environment
    • Experience influencing others with/without direct authority
    • Strong communication, relationship, and team-building skills
    • Experience effectively collaborating across levels and functions within own organization and with outside customers and vendors
    • Experience applying statistical information to make data driven decisions related to production, product testing, specifications, etc.
