 About the Position:

The Project Director (Cal Vip) oversees the delivery of services and ensures contract compliance with Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) policies, procedures, and fiscal regulations pertaining to the California Violence Intervention (CalVIP) Project. This position also develops, interprets, and administers policies and procedures governing the project, and administers appropriate strategies for recruitment, selection, and retention of staff. In addition, this position will be acting as the operations manager over all CalVIP project staff and will be the primary point of contact for BSCC and External Evaluation staff.

What You Will Do:

  • Oversees the implementation and timely reporting of all data collection systems, statistics, and reports.
  • Works collaboratively with BSCC, the Evaluation team, and community partners.
  • Develops quality control procedures to ensure high-quality service.
  • Ensures the provision of client-centered services that are aligned with contract objectives.
  • Responsible for overall supervision and oversight of all contract staff.
  • Possesses strong working knowledge of the programmatic process, including evaluation design and data collection.
  • Monitors the casework of project staff.
  • Addresses the operational needs associated with CalVIP project.
  • Provides in-service training and on-the-job training for new staff, as needed.
  • Implement appropriate strategies for recruitment, selection, training, and retention of staff.
  • Responsible for fiscal monitoring of expenditures.
  • Ensures contract staff compliance with BSCC policies and procedures; and
  • Demonstrates cultural competency, community advocacy, and professionalism in representing the Amity Foundation and its projects to the community.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 What You Will Bring:

  • Five (5) years of employment services supervisory experience with criminal justice-involved populations; OR
  • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, sociology, criminal justice, or other related field AND three (3) years of documented experience of operational responsibility in an employment services setting.
  • Demonstrate proper attitudes and techniques towards faculty and program participants, and model professional, effective work habits and responsible living.
