AMIkids is Hiring a Licensed Mental Health Professional - AMIkids Miami Dade North Near Miami, FL

AMIkids Miami-Dade consists of two private nonprofit, staff-secure day treatment facilities in the Miami, Florida area. Originally founded in 1974 in Miami, we opened a second location in North Miami Beach in 1988 to better serve the need of our greater community. Our programs operate during regular school hours, serving both boys and girls who are at risk of dropping out of school or who are involved with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. Our staff works together with our kids and their families to address issues both in the home and in the student's neighborhood and help our kids to work through their issues and gain the needed skills to return to their families and communities.

Position Summary

The Licensed Mental Health Professional role is responsible for the development, implementation and general oversight of all specialized services for the youth, including assessments, service and treatment plans, and intervention referrals. Ensure fidelity is maintained and validate treatment compliance.

Essential Job Duties

  • Direct and implement treatment services and integrate the Personal Growth Model and Evidence Based Practices; ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and contract agreements, as well as fidelity to evidence-based models,
  • Facilitate/supervise individual, group, family and crisis counseling services,
  • Lead/implement psycho-educational, delinquency interventions, including Evidence Based treatments,
  • Lead and supervise the treatment team; provide regular training and feedback to treatment team staff as needed,
  • Ensure youth are assessed for clinical needs at the Program or referral through qualified providers,
  • Ensure treatment plans address individualized needs of each youth,
  • Maintain a case load of youth when required,
  • Develop supportive relationships and communicate effectively with youth’s families/guardians, community partners and probation officers on youth’s progress,
  • May function as the Designated Mental Health Clinician Authority at the Program and supervise unlicensed clinical staff,
  • Uphold principals of professional conduct ethics, and AMIkids values,
  • Ensure required reports and documentation are submitted timely and maintained in a confidential environment,
  • Confirm all applicable certifications and licensing are maintained,
  • Attend and maintain appropriate crisis intervention and physical restraint training and certification as defined by state and contract requirements,
  • Obtain and maintain National Provider Identifier and Medicaid provider enrollment,
  • Attend and maintain CPR and First Aid certification by nationally recognized organization,
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience

  • Master’s degree; preferably in Psychology, Social Work, or other counseling related field,
  • Independent license to practice professional counseling, social work, or family therapy per state licensing board(s),
  • Experience working with electronic documentation, 
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience with youth preferred
  • Be able to complete trainings outside the program as needed.
