JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Deputy Director, oversees the overall operation of the agency Nutrition Program’s Senior Centers and the Data/case Management departments. Assures that elder needs are met, accordingly, through the Senior Centers’ services in accordance with the Centers’ annual goals and objectives and funding sources’ rules, regulations, guidelines, and service standards. Assures that Data/ Management staff implements and maintains computer database documentation pertaining to personal information and social services received by Corporation participants. Performs other related work as required.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinates and monitors with the Senior Nutrition Centers Director and Senior Nutrition Center Managers the provision of the daily congregate and home delivered meals, transportation, and monthly nutrition education to elder participants through the agency Nutrition and Management, Transportation Projects and satellite Senior Centers.
  • Communicates with Senior Nutrition Centers Director on all major developments and improvements required to comply with all funding sources’ rules and regulations.
  • Coordinates with the Senior Nutrition Centers Director the provision of the appropriate information, training, and technical assistance to the Senior Center’s staff, volunteers, and Advisory Councils.
  • Coordinates and monitors the appropriate record keeping, documentation, and filing system of the Senior Nutrition Center’s participant services and staff and volunteer information with the assistance of the Senior Nutrition Centers Director.
  • Maintains a personal record keeping, documentation, and filing system on pertinent Senior Nutrition Center data and information.
  • Monitors and evaluates, with the assistance of the Senior Nutrition Centers Director, on a monthly basis, the Senior Nutrition Center Projects’ accomplishments of their programmatic goals and objectives; control of their budgets; expenditures; and compliance with their funding sources’ rules, regulations, guidelines, and service standards.
  • Prepares and submits regular monthly and special reports on the Senior Nutrition Centers to the Deputy Director.
  • Reviews and approves reports submitted by Senior Nutrition Centers Director monthly reports for the agency’s Board of Directors and submits to the Agency Organizational Administrative Assistant.
  • Coordinates with the Senior Nutrition Centers Director the preparing and assuring timely submittal of reports to funding sources.
  • Monitors with Senior Nutrition Director the activities of the Senior Nutrition Center staff, volunteers, and Advisory Councils.
  • Monitors with Senior Nutrition Centers Director the agency Senior Center fund-raising projects and activities.
  • Monitors with Senior Nutrition Centers Director the agency Senior Nutrition Center Managers’ efforts in mobilizing financial and non-financial resources for the Senior Nutrition Centers and/or agency through community-at-large profit and non-profit entities and individuals.

  • Prepares and submits annual Area Agency on Aging (AAA) and Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (TDADs) and Local CDBG Nutrition / Transportation Program Application for Funding.
  • Monitors with Senior Nutrition Centers Director the collection, counting, record keeping, documentation, and safeguard of the agency Senior Nutrition Center fundraising projects and activities.
  • Monitors with Senior Nutrition Centers Director Data/ Management staff to ensure those operational duties of the department remain within a scheduled workload.
  • Ensures that Data/Management staff is data entering information correctly and on a timely basis on the computers.
  • Will review accuracy of all data by proofreading or re-typing.
  • Interfaces with other agency departments’ personnel as necessary.
  • Performs other related work as assigned by the immediate supervisor.


OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitors the planning, organizing and implementation of area-wide agency Senior Nutrition Center fund-raising projects and activities.
  • Attends and represents the Department at meetings and/or conferences as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, DEGREES, CERTIFICATES AND / OR LICENCES:

  • Minimum level of education required for this position is a college or university bachelors degree with preference given to such degree with a social service’s related major or one (1) year of experience for every year of college.
  • Class C Texas Operators Driver’s License.
  • Personal vehicle for travel to conduct agency-related business
  • Personal vehicle liability insurance
  • Insurable driving record.


EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:

  • At least two (2) years of experience in human service-related work, preferably in the provision of services to elder persons.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in the supervision of other personnel, preferably in the mid management level of supervision.
  • Knowledge and training in federal, state, and local nutrition and transportation programs for elder persons.
  • Ability to communicate courteously and effectively verbally and in writing in English and Spanish.
