AMI INDUSTRIES,INC is Hiring a Team Lead Near Sault Sainte Marie, MI

Primary Purpose of the Job:Supervises assigned staff in use of power tools in the assembly of mechanical and/or electrical units or service at floor stations to make subassemblies and complete products.

Specific Duties:

  • Supervises, coordinates, provides leadership to, and reviews the work of assigned staff.
  • Assures the fit and alignment of components to conform to the specifications; validates that equipment meets tolerances.
  • Evaluates and make recommendations regarding methods and procedures in assigned aspect of work.
  • Acts as liaison with other departments and prepares written reports concerning assigned aspect of work.
  • Plans day-to-day departmental operations, assigns on people, recommends overtime and controls costs.
  • Performs such individual assignments as the Supervisor may direct; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
  • Performs those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including provision for the selection and development of employees, pay administration, budget administration, employee safety, employee counseling and motivation, organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating, and measuring the work performed within the department and ensures adequate and continuous control is exercised over the activities affecting quality.
  • Must carry out duties per IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 

Required Training, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Broad background in manufacturing technology and line operating experience.
  • In depth understanding of production administration functions including quality, accounting, engineering and human resources.
  • General business and communication skills typically gained through completion of a bachelor’s level college degree. 

Essential Functions:

  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Supervises, coordinates, provides leadership to, and reviews the work of assigned staff.
  • Evaluates and makes recommendations regarding methods and procedures in assigned area and plans day-to-day departmental operations, assigns people, authorizes overtime and controls costs.
  • Interviews and recommends candidates for new hire.
  • Performs all administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department.

Critical Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds and frequently carries up to 30 pounds.
  • Maneuvers in, around, under, and about factory and/or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.
  • Some of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting, and bending.
  • Works within an automotive components manufacturing and laboratory setting and is exposed to heat, cold, wet, and fumes/chemicals.
  • May be required to travel to plant and/or customer sites.
