The Vela Scholars program is a year-round educational partnership between the 21st Century Collaborative for Educational Services, and Amherst Regional Middle School (ARMS). We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a part time After-School Activity Leader, focusing on the recruitment and retention of seventh and eighth-grade students. The ideal candidate will lead an exciting Project-Based Learning (PBL) project spanning 2 months.Responsibilities: • Recruit and retain seventh and eighth-grade students for the after-school program.• Lead an engaging and enriching Project-Based Learning (PBL) project over the course of 4 months.• Demonstrate patience, dependability, and a willingness to actively engage with students.• Utilize strong classroom management skills to create a positive and productive learning environment.Requirements:• Licensed teacher or end route to becoming one, with experience in a classroom setting.• Passion for working with seventh and eighth-grade students, fostering both educational and personal growth. • Proven ability to recruit and retain students in extracurricular programs.• Strong organizational skills to plan and execute a 4 month PBL project.If you are a patient, dependable, and experienced licensed teacher or end route to becoming one, with a passion for student engagement and project-based learning, we invite you to apply.
