Process Development Associate, Pilot Plant
What you will do
Let’s do this! Let’s change the world!
Our lab is known as the Scaleup Lab (SUL) and is one of three in Amgen’s Pilot Plant Network. We sit within the Drug Substance Process Development organization in the heart of Kendall Square within Cambridge, MA. Our primary purpose is to prototype, develop, and test new technologies intended for next-generation, large-scale biomanufacturing applications. The pilot plant also provides critical technical support for advanced technology transfers and large molecule process development. We deliver both data and material to support early (pre-pivotal) through late stage (pivotal) clinical and commercial biologics programs.
This role is within an integrated organization in which cell culture and purification scientists and engineers work together to advance Amgen's rich and dynamic pipeline. With Amgen's biology-first approach, the position provides a unique opportunity to work on multiple modalities, from antibodies to oncolytic viruses to bi-specifics.
In this role, you will establish the platforms of the future and apply established platform approaches while utilizing problem-solving skills to rapidly solve day-to-day experimental challenges. As such, this is a hands-on role where troubleshooting and problem solving are part of the day to day. Additionally, you will utilize out-of-the-box thinking to contribute to technology development and demonstrate the desire to expand and develop expertise in both cell culture and purification.
