What you will do

In this vital role the Director of HCP marketing will be responsible for building the strategy and executing the marketing plan for the brand in close collaboration with Amgen’s co-promotion partner. In this critical leadership role, you will collaborate with a wide range of internal and external partners to shape the strategy and deliver against the launch plan with respect to HCP marketing including the branded promotional communications plan, overseeing the development of promotional tactics across marketing channels, partnering closely with the sales team to ensure strong execution of sales tactics and messaging, and shaping the post-launch strategic plan for the brand.

This role requires you to impart exceptional leadership and communication skills with a strategic approach, building brands and influencing cross-functionally. You will work in teams with a highly collaborative approach. The Director will report to the Executive Director, Respiratory Marketing.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Shape the brand strategy for the next launch phase in close collaboration with the co-promotion partner, Brand Lead and cross-functional partners

  • Together with co-promote partners, oversee the development of promotional tactics, working with market research and agency partners to uncover deep insights and translate them to compelling marketing collateral

  • Oversee development of future evolutions of HCP branded campaigns, messaging and communications strategy

  • Co-manage the speaker bureau to ensure seamless execution across the alliance, including oversight of speaker bureau operations, speaker relationships, and evolution of speaker program content

  • Collaborate with key partners including HCP marketing, Medical, Payer/Access, Corporate Communications, Operational teams, and Commercial Data & Analytics teams to ensure alignment across customer stakeholders including HCPs and patients

  • Regularly engage with opinion leaders via advisory boards and individual interactions

  • Regularly work with the sales team to optimize performance, as well as troubleshoot and resolve execution barriers. Partner to inform sales training for marketing resources and strategy

  • Continuously collaborate with co-promotion partner to ensure connectivity on brand strategy, marketing and sales execution and performance

  • In collaboration with the co-promotion partner, manage the internal legal, regulatory, and medical review and approval of materials to enable responsible and compliant consumer communications

  • Manage budgets and closely monitor performance to meet brand goals and objectives, ensuring cost-effective delivery of all programs

  • Engage with senior leadership on ongoing performance, presenting strategic brand plans

  • Represent team in organizational-level initiatives designed to drive new capabilities and share best practices to more effectively reach HCPs

  • Domestic travel up to 30%

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 4 years of marketing experience

Or

Master’s degree and 6 years of marketing experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong track-record of results including launch experience, preferably in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical space. Experience in respiratory or other similarly highly competitive market

  • Strong marketing savvy with demonstrated abilities in building and launching brands, including developing marketing strategy, leading market research plans, creating compelling creative campaigns, building and implementing segmentation, developing brand positioning, and overseeing tactical plan development and execution

  • Experience marketing directly to prescribers, with a strong preference for biotechnology/pharmaceutical experience

  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence, formal people leadership a plus

  • Demonstrated desire to innovate with creative out-of-the-box strategies and tactics to compliantly drive strong brand performance

  • Strong track record of partnering effectively with agencies to develop engaging creative and multi-channel tactical execution

  • Passion to understand marketplace dynamics, translating market research and applying deep insights to best address customer needs. Experience with clinical data a plus

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with sales teams

  • Demonstrated ability to build productive partnerships and collaborate effectively in a matrixed organization. Co-promotion experience a plus

  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills, including effective large group presentation skills
