Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. The Executive Director, Global Marketing Lead (GML) Portfolio Strategy is a critical role in the organization. The GML is responsible for maximizing the value of our portfolio to meet the oncology 2030 ambition driving our global franchise and cross portfolio strategies holistically. This position is complex and will require a commercial executive with strategic thinking and marketing capabilities, analytical skills and scientific literacy, cross-functional collaboration skills, the ability to operate globally and locally, and influencing skills.
The GML, Portfolio Strategy Lead will provide commercial leadership and a “one team voice” in consolidating individual asset needs to a portfolio view and pull through across multiple aspects and functions as well as ensuring oversight of external business development direction to meet the ambition.
Responsible for overall alignment of the end-to-end strategy for the Global Oncology Portfolio.
Through cross-functional collaboration, ensure alignment against our overarching oncology strategy and commercial POV that clearly articulates our short/mid/long term goals, priorities, and areas for investments
Supports the development of a global cross-portfolio vision/strategy to optimize the value of Amgen Oncology and a commercial success based POV
Partners and consult with CD&A, Access, Clinical Development, Discovery, Translational Science, Medical Affairs, Project Leadership, Project Management, Alliance Management, Business Development, Finance, and other functions across the organization to establish, coordinate, and interface with existing collaborators and external partners across the Oncology portfolio and align on a shared TAG vision and strategy
Oversees a continuous TA strategy planning process for all products in the portfolio and coordination across brands (leveraging the outputs of the franchise TSG work)
Leadership of an integrated and cohesive portfolio for oncology, laddering up individual plans
Oversees, plans, and implements a portfolio approach for complex oncology products across different tumor types coordinating a” one team” view
Ensuring that Amgen maximize the portfolio value of its pipeline and inline brands
Oversees oncology business development initiatives as the lead for GMAC oncology and participate in HOLR BD reviews as the oncology strategic representative.
As necessary, assess business scenarios and make recommendations as to whether to proceed or not from a commercial POV
Works toward a new model for business development financial assessments in collaboration with the oncology BD team (analog based)
Takes an outside in view to business analytics and ladder up portfolio landscape views, assesses impact, and provides real time updates and recommendation on the shifting landscape (Coordinates a view from informed but disparate information sources such as CI, analyst views, market changes) to the VP commercial (and TAG if needed) and to inform “portfolio” learnings back into the individual asset programs
Manages and coordinates with our Partners any portfolio initiatives
In addition, this role will also cover Xaluritamig (STEAP1 BiTE) as the GML to lead the commercial perspective in prostate cancer and beyond. The key milestones which are upcoming at Commit to registration (CTRS) and subsequent to this will stand up a commercial team to take forward this important asset for Amgen.

Ensures timeliness and quality of key commercial inputs into portfolio views
Forges strong relationships and cross-functional collaboration and regional collaboration
Represents portfolio commercial interests on Research Project Teams and licensing teams
Communicates regional interests to create consolidated and integrated global strategy

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree & 6 years of Global Marketing experience OR
Master’s degree & 10 years of Global Marketing experience OR
Bachelor’s degree & 12 years of Global Marketing experience AND
6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
Preferred Qualifications:
Oncology experience in solid tumors. Immuno-oncology is most preferred, but other oncology experience is also useful
At least eight years of experience in a series of commercial roles of increasing scope, scale, and complexity, with leading companies in the biopharmaceutical industry
Experience developing and implementing innovative global marketing and commercial strategies for pipeline products, successfully launching therapeutic products and repositioning products to maximize commercial value
Experience launching oncology products in an accelerated setting is highly desirable
Experience in commercial positions with global responsibilities is important
Experience living and working outside the United States is highly desirable Possesses an understanding of broad, global market dynamics and the cultural awareness and sensitivity to form relationships and collaborate with colleagues around the world
Broad therapeutic area expertise. Has worked in diverse commercial roles supporting several different disease states, on products in various stages of the lifecycle, with a diverse set of customers in challenging and competitive markets
Experience in a tactical, “line” marketing role, implementing marketing strategies in local markets, is a plus
Understanding of global market access, pricing, and reimbursement issues
Experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrix environment, managing global projects involving multiple functions and shared accountabilities
An MBA or advanced scientific degree (PhD, MS, MD, PharmD) is strongly preferred

The annual base salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $274,388 to $318,568.
