What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will report to the Senior Manager Decision Sciences within the R&D Data and Decision Sciences team. This position will partner with cross-functional teams as well as IS/DTI to develop, implement, and maintain analytically focused solutions for the research and development organization. This position will help develop an analytics-first mentality within the research and development organization by using the latest in advanced analytical techniques and solutions.

  • Apply an analytics-first mentality to R&D by using the latest in advanced analytical techniques and solutions
  • Lead and facilitate operational activities to plan, build, implement, launch, and maintain analytical solutions in accordance with business strategies, goals, and roadmaps.
  • Serve as an authority, advocate, and domain guide for data, analytics, and metrics, and act as an advisor to leadership, functional, and DTI partners
  • Technical strategy partners with business collaborators, understanding their strategic vision and providing analytic expertise to help solve problems
  • Implement cutting-edge analytics and technological AI/ML solutions across R&D
  • Lead or champion delivery of key performance metrics and other analytics on an ongoing basis while continuously improving and innovating to enhance efficiency and throughput
  • Establish active communication lines with all applicable teams across functions and geographies, ensuring global alignment with the implementation of innovations and improvements in analytic solutions
  • Develop business domain knowledge, establish relationships with stakeholders, and understand their strategy and evolving solutions with the big picture in mind
  • Partner with business product owners on user story/requirements gathering, UAT, deployments, training, end-user support, etc.
  • Support recruitment, coaching, mentoring, and development of team members
  • Support vendor management

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience

OR

Associate’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 10 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in life science, data science, computer science, business administration, or a related field.
  • 8 years’ experience implementing and leading analytics platforms in pharmaceutical or biotech.
  • 5 years’ experience leading systems or analytics projects in drug development or clinical trials.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, drug development, and clinical trial environments.
  • Proficiency in scientific, portfolio timeline, operational, and financial data analysis.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence business partners, bridging the technical and non-technical worlds.
  • Excellent problem-solving, storytelling, and communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Experience scaling advanced analytical techniques in a broad organization.
  • Expertise in statistical and advanced analytics techniques for complex questions.
  • Technical proficiency in analytics tools (Tableau, Spotfire), RDBMS, SQL, Python, R, Databricks, Spark, web development (Shiny, Dash, React), Git, AWS, RPA tools, front-end business systems, Agile methodologies, and a passion for continuous learning.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
