In this vital role the Associate Director, HCP Integrated Promotion Lead, Neurology (Aimovig) will report to the Director of Marketing for Aimovig, Amgen’s first preventive migraine treatment. This role is responsible for supporting HCP/Office strategy development and leading the execution of that strategy including creative development of marketing materials to support Aimovig’s key customer managers and virtual sales team interactions with HCPs and office staff (including both in person and remotely) and leading a team of virtual sales representatives. This individual will also support planning and execution of sales force meetings and the development of brand-building marketing plans and tactics to accelerate Aimovig’s growth. Additionally, this role will lead National Congress execution.

Critical to the role will be developing and evangelizing an in-depth understanding of those HCPs who treat migraine (and their offices) and defining and pursuing opportunities to ensure the brand’s value proposition is pulled through at all high impact touchpoints.

This role requires strong teamwork and flexibility. The Associate Director HCP Integrated Promotion Lead will collaborate with a wide range of internal and external partners to develop and bring Aimovig’s plan to life. This role will work very closely with the key customer management team, training, DTC marketing, omnichannel marketing, and access. The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding leadership, innovation, and an ability to succeed in a highly collaborative and rapidly changing environment.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Marketing, sales, and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Or

Master’s degree and 4 years of Marketing, sales, and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Marketing, sales, and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Or

Associate’s Degree and 10 years of Marketing, sales, and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Marketing, sales, and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing, coaching, and leading a team of virtual sales representatives (VSRs) responsible for partnering with Key Customer managers to provide key customer office support and promoting Aimovig to additional healthcare providers within assigned geography.

  • Owning commercial performance within VSR-only targets through identifying and setting a plan of action and leading team execution to pull through brand strategy.

  • Partnering with Regional Commercial Manager (manager of Key Customer Manager team) to foster collaboration across teams and enable integrated learning and execution of brand strategy with customers.

  • Supporting overall Aimovig HCP strategy and plan development in close collaboration with the full marketing team.

  • Acting as the voice of the HCP, translating HCP motivation and behavior and market insights into a rich and empathetic HCP brand narrative and resources.

  • Partnering with sales training to develop training and materials to ensure best in class pull through of promotional tools and programs.

  • Supporting HCP omnichannel plan development and execution including message map, budget allocations and placements across PESO (Paid, Earned, Shared, Owned) ecosystem.

  • Lead development, production, and MAC approval of all HCP-related personal promo creative/content in partnership with internal and external (agency) partners.

  • Working with Insights to execute necessary HCP market/insight research to enhance overall strategy and execution.

  • Monitoring trends and landscape; recommend and lead tests/pilots, as appropriate, to enhance efficiency/impact.

  • Collaborating with and inspiring cross-functional and agency partners to deliver “excellence in execution” as well as innovation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive personal promotion: ability to develop and execute a range of initiatives/tactics that are aligned with and support overall brand strategy.

  • Experience in leading teams including those selling in a virtual setting and managing teams remotely

  • Strong marketing acumen including a key grasp of marketing strategy, market research, segmentation, brand positioning, and tactical plan development.

  • Proven record of developing and implementing insight-led high impact campaigns and marketing tools.

  • Ability to foster a culture of connection, collaboration, and accountability.

  • Experience working with advertising agencies to develop and produce engaging creative (on time and on budget).

  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to draw, communicate, and pull through actionable insights from data.

  • Experience using Veeva PromoMats.

  • Proven ability to partner with research, medical, regulatory, and legal colleagues.

  • Self-starter: strong bias for action and agility.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.

  • Strong communication effectiveness: the ability to engage, connect, and influence senior management and the sales and marketing organization.

  • Budget management experience.

  • 6 years of Marketing/Field Sales experience (including 3 years of Marketing)

  • Healthcare/Pharmaceutical experience
