Job SummaryThe Field Engineer/Mechanical Engineer will work under Ametrine’s Director of Engineering and contribute in the development of Ametrine’s multispectral products and components. Critical to the role is interfacing and collaborating with Ametrine's US and Israeli technical personnel, ensuring clear communication throughout the process from invention to end use. This role requires logical reasoning, problem solving, relationship management and attention to detail in a rapidly changing environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design efforts for custom fabricated parts. This includes concept generation and refinement as well as mechanical documentation for low volume manufacturing.
  • Execute field testing/evaluation of signature management solutions for textiles and ground mobility platforms. 
  • Assist with the design of experiments/processes for evaluation of new and existing products and components.
  • Collaborate on laboratory research for development of new technologies under the direction of a technical/product lead.
  • Facilitate clear communication among diverse stakeholders.
  • Assist or lead client demonstrations.
  • Collect data from end users.
  • Collaborate on business development initiatives.

Required Background and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Physics.
  • 2-5 years of experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Background in engineering and deployed military operations.
  • Hands-on field experience in data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to think critically when facing complex technical and field use problems.
  • Strong communications skills, particularly in presenting data and analysis to both technical and non-technical colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to work independently and in small teams.
  • Flexibility to work evening hours when required.
  • Fluent in Hebrew (desired, not required).

The following activities are also required: reach (extending hands and arms in any direction), standing for long periods of time, walking (moving about to accomplish tasks), lifting (raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position), grasping (applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm), and repetitive motion (substantial moving of arms, wrists, hands, and/or fingers) is required.

Other Requirements

  • Must be US Citizen (per US government contracts).
  • US security clearance or ability to obtain upon employment required.
  • May require domestic and/or international travel (50%).
  • Work hours 8am-5pm, Monday thru Friday, some evenings required.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
