care and support for assigned site, buildings, facilities, structures and adjacent areas

Position Summary

The Custodian position is a member of the Real Estate/Facilities team. In conjunction

with the Director of Real Estate, Superintendent, Facilities Coordinator, Site Directors,

staff, and students, this position assists in carrying out the mission and philosophy of

AMPS and is responsible for supporting and contributing

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Gather and empty trash in all rooms and maintain dumpsters;

Service, clean, and supply restrooms, including but not limited to disinfecting

toilet seats, restocking soap, and paper towels;

Clean, disinfect, and polish desks, tables and furniture;

Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors;

Maintain all trash bin areas clean and clear of trash;

Maintain and clean front office/lobby;

Dust all surfaces, including furniture, walls, machines, equipment;

Maintain and clean cafeteria including but not limited to tables, floors, and

countertops;

Checking and restocking cleaning supplies;

Spot clean entryways;

Walk off mats cleaned; submit request when mats need changing

Constant awareness and cleaning/removal of marks on walls, black marks on

floors, areas where dirt and buildup has collected;

Sweep, spot mop, vacuum daily;

Maintain cleanliness of exterior site including but not limited to daily trash pick

up, graffiti removal, etc.

Respond to minor maintenance requests such as unclogging of toilets and

urinals, shutting off of gas, electricity and water.

Check and change light bulbs as when needed

Assist in delivering supplies to classrooms

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the duties of the position;

Follow verbal and written instructions to ensure safety;

Operate and care for custodial equipment and supplies applicable to the

position;

Ability to clearly relay information, both written and verbal, for maintenance,

custodial or health and safety repairs or concerns;

Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety

rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report

unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator;

Interpersonal relations skills;

Ability to safely move up to 50 pounds;

Must be able to work safely in an indoor and outdoor environment; exposure to

moist or wet conditions, dust, chemicals, hazardous materials and blood borne

pathogens, variances in temperature, noise, and equipment with moving parts;

Must be able to perform work involving, but not limited to, lifting, carrying, and

maneuvering heavy objects; squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, standing,

walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling;

Basic knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial

work preferred

EDUCATION:

Any combination of training, experience, and/or education sufficient to demonstrate

the required qualifications.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, DEGREES, CREDENTIALS:

Must have a valid driver's license.
