The Ames High School coaching staff is seeking a Drill Team Coach for the 2022-23 school year.The mission of the Ames Community School District is to ensure that all learners develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes, values, and personal esteem necessary to grow in and shape a changing society.
Summary
The Drill Team Coach will be responsible for recruiting, administering, and directing the Dance Team, which will perform at various events throughout the school year.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

• Supervises and prepares Drill Team for performances.
• Schedules and attends all practice sessions before, during, or after school.
• Participates in dance competitions/events throughout the school year.
• Maintains a dance program and performance schedule throughout the school year.
• Follows proper procedures for the purchase of equipment and materials necessary for program operation.
• Conducts of fundraising activities necessary to support the operation of the program.
• Assists in planning pep assembles and coordinates with other coaches and activity sponsors, building principals, and the Athletic Director.
• Coordinates any summer camps with the Athletic Director.
• Creates a sense of belonging for all students, families, and staff.
• Attends work on a consistent and punctual basis.
• Onsite work required.
• Assists with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A current Iowa coaching authorization preferred.
• Experience coaching dance team at the high school level preferred.

Compensation: $3,391 season stipend
