As a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Technician (COT), you will be rooming patients for the eye care provider to include accurate data gathering and testing (ex: stereo testing, color vision testing, visual acuity, check pupils, motility, cover test, confrontation fields, visual field testing/OCT/intraocular pressure measurements/pachymetry/photography). Clear and effective communication with team members and the provider is expected. As the COT or COA, you will also be responsible for assisting with minor surgeries; scheduling surgery, pre-op and post-op appointments; triaging patients (in clinic, on phone or inbox messages), and contacting patients with test results.
