Ameritas is Hiring a Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis Near Lincoln, NE

This position leads specialized expense reporting for the enterprise, and directs the completion and analysis of the budget, forecast, and actual expenses. Collaborate with others throughout the organization to understand impacts, resolve issues, enable decisions, and drive results.

Ameritas seeks an innovative and disciplined leader to manage and develop an expense analysis and budgeting team in a robust evaluation of expenses and strategies. This position manages the budgeting process for $600 million of annual expense for the enterprise and leads the analysis of expenses in a way that informs and drives business decisions. This position will provide strategic, innovative leadership and oversee operational direction of the Financial Planning and Analysis Expense team.

Essential knowledge and skills to be exhibited include strong organizational awareness; an aptitude for changing regulatory environment; expense management, budget development; and an ability to anticipate problems while ensuring an effective approach is taken when maneuvering in complex situations. An understanding of related financial processes and financial accounting systems, including Oracle is also important.

What You Do:

  • Develop and design new finance models to meet changing business needs. Manage consolidated expense input and reporting, providing insight and direction.
  • Manage monthly expense variance analysis and direct the evaluation of key metrics and variance to provide insights to senior management.
  • Manage the annual budget cycle including system preparations, leader instruction communications, and related support.
  • Manage the development and communication of annual expense targets. Consults with teams throughout the Enterprise on developing plans to achieve results.
  • Direct and facilitate the completion and submission of expense projections and project spend.
  • Oversee the development of cost allocation rates and the allocation of expenses to product lines.
  • Lead special projects aimed at disciplined expense management.
  • Review and evaluate expense accruals.
  • Develop Enterprise expense allocation policies.
  • Manage the development of team in their technical and leadership skills through continuous training, coaching and feedback.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 4-7 years' related experience required.
  • 2-4 years’ experience effectively supervising or managing direct reports required.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools required.
  • Experience collaborating with business partners, examiners/auditors desired.
  • Ability to build strong internal customer relationships.
  • Experience with budgeting tools preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle or other cloud-based applications is preferred.
