Ameristar Casino Resort Spa St. Charles is seeking an experienced Painter to join our team. The Painter is responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing and performing necessary maintenance to all forms of surfaces through painting or wallpapering, including drywall preparation, taping and finishing.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Perform duties with minimum or no supervision to the completion of the assignment with quality workmanship. Must also possess the ability to perform to the expectations and standards of the Facilities Department and the company.
• Possesses the ability to work from heights including ladders, scaffolds and lifts.
• Perform work in a safe and efficient manner, following all applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and/or codes as related to the stated position of Painter/Wallpaper Hanger.
• Work from blueprints or verbal and/or written instructions.
• Maintain shop areas, spare parts areas, storage areas and inventories of materials, equipment and associated parts of the trade of Painter/Wallpaper Hanger.
• Install newly designed materials.
• Proficiency in all areas of painting including spraying, rolling, brushing, air brushing, dying, wall preparation and repair and mixing and matching colors.
• Maintain, repair, install, and perform necessary maintenance to all forms of wallpapering and trim installation, i.e. corner guards.

Ideal candidate will have at least 2 years commercial painting and wallpapering experience, must be able to paint with multiple applications (i.e. brushes, rollers, sprayers) and will be proficient in different painting techniques. Work is performed inside and outside in all weather conditions requiring large amounts of walking and stair climbing requires being mobile 90% of the shift.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

• Possession of, and ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers and gaming license within assigned state of employment and other jurisdictions.
• Must successfully pass background check.
• Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening.
• Must be 21 years of age.
