AmeriStaff Employment & Staffing Solutions is Hiring a Payroll Administrator Near Ferrum, VA

AmeriStaff is currently seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to fill an opening with a company located in Ferrum, VA. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or three years of payroll, cashiering, and/or accounts receivable experience.

Benefits of the Payroll Administrator:

  • Monday-Friday.
  • 8:30am-5:00pm
  • Pay: $16.00 per hour.

Requirements of the Payroll Administrator:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or three years of payroll, cashiering, and/or accounts receivable experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word.

Responsibilities of the Payroll Administrator:

  • Prepare payroll, including time-sheet entry and related journal entries.
  • Calculate and submit payroll taxes and maintain payroll tax spreadsheet.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual federal and multi-state payroll tax reports including 941, VA, VEC, and W-2 forms.
  • Retain working knowledge of Colleague Self-Service Time Entry, and train new supervisors as necessary on the usage of both.
  • Reconcile all payroll-related liability accounts.
  • Work with Human Resources staff to ensure accurate compensation amounts, payroll deductions and annual pay rate adjustments.
  • Enter payments and cash deposits from various areas. Create receipts as required and prepare bank deposits. Pick up deposit bags from the bank.
  • Monitor operating account transactions, print previous day detail report, and post receipt entries as necessary.
  • Assist Accounting Specialist with bank reconciliations and investigate and correct bank statement reconciliation items monthly.
  • Assist Director of Budgets with collection of data for cash forecasting.
  • Prepare tax reports and submit sales tax payment online.
  • Reimbursable Expense Form for submission of meals tax payments.
  • Assist with other Business Office functions as assigned.
