AmeriStaff is currently recruiting an experienced Production Operator to fill an opening with a fulfillment center in Reidsville, NC. The ideal candidate needs to have a minimum of one (1) – manufacturing experience.

Requirements of the Production Operator

• Passport or be willing to obtain one quickly.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one (1) year manufacturing-related experience required.
• Minimum of 2 years consecutive employment experience.
• Ability to read and interpret work documents.
• Ability to work in teams, adapt to frequent changes, and perform basic math.
• Ability to read and interpret production related documents.
• Ability to learn ERP system.

Responsibilities of the Production Operator

• Perform typical machine operations to produce product to specification, using defined good run settings, and meeting output, yield and OEE goals.
• Prep, load and set parameters for raw materials.
• Must be able to operate the following manufacturing processes: cutting (dies, knives), gluing, conveyor, vision, and packaging (case erectors, box sealers).
• Splice material.
• Read, monitor, interact with and respond to machines using PLC/HMIs.
• Remove, install, and validate parts when doing equipment set up and changeovers.
• Use hand tools.
• Read and use a metric and standard tape measure.
• Follow all procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Perform quality checks.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance on machines.
• Detect deviations from normal machine behavior.
• Troubleshoot to root cause when solving machine operations problems.
• Detect and report product defects and questionable conditions.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing concepts.
• Must comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Communicate status of machine operations to incoming crew at shift change
• Demonstrate respect to all individuals you encounter.
• Effectively use communication skills.
• Must be able to work overtime or on a different shift if required.
• Works under direct supervision.
• Train new machine operators.
• Enter work requests.
• Assist with physical inventory.
• Hearing protection must be worn at all times.
• Safety goggles must be worn when working with the air compressor.
• Cut resistant gloves must be worn when working with knives.
