AMERISERV FINANCIAL is Hiring a VP Financial Advisor Near Hagerstown, MD

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE:

Assess the financial needs of individuals and entities and help them with decisions on investments (such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, exchange traded funds, annuities, etc.), tax laws, insurance (including life insurance, long term care insurance and health insurance) and retirement plans. Advisors help clients plan for short- and long-term goals, such as budgeting for education expenses and saving for retirement through investments. Advisors provide financial planning, retirement planning, education savings planning, and estate planning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

As an employee of ASRV Trust & Financial Services Company and a Registered Representative with a third-party broker/dealer, the Program Manager and Financial Advisor will be required to:

1. Offer approved securities, insurance and annuity products to bank and non-bank customers, appropriately matching the product with customer needs, suitability and best interests as required.

 2. Achieve activity, production, and referral goals as determined by the President and CEO of AmeriServ Trust and Financial Services Company.

3. Maintain all required licensing and credentials in order to offer a diversified product menu. These include but are not limited to PA Life, Accident, & Health License, FINRA Series 6 or 7, 63/65 or 66, and any continuing education courses required by the broker/dealer and regulatory agencies, and any imposed future requirements.

4. Know and comply with all applicable insurance and securities laws and exemplify the highest level of ethical sales behavior.

5. Know and comply with all ASRV, ASRVFS policies and procedures, and where applicable, all other third party compliance guidelines, including timely completion of all paperwork associated with new sales and the servicing of existing accounts.

6. Cultivate and maintain a good working relationship with the Retail Branch Network, Lending, and the Trust Company to allow for cross referral opportunities.

7. Review existing accounts as required for thepurpose of maintaining customer relationships, re-assessing customer needs, updating paperwork, and obtaining referrals.

8. Complete in a timely fashion all paperwork and updates with Activity Tracking and the Referral System.

9. Host seminars, participate in branch and department training, and engage in activities that enable access to those customers who may not frequently use the branch system.

10. Stay abreast of all technological requirements and comply with technology policies and procedures of ASRVFS and any other third party.

11. Attend all scheduled training sessions as required by the EVP/Director of Wealth and Capital Management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position may require supervision of employees such as a sales assistant or junior representatives.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is frequently required to: 1) Type or otherwise work with fingers; 2) Talk expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers or clients accurately, loudly, or quickly; 3) Hearing – perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with/without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make the discriminations in sound. 4) Specific vision abilities required by this job include: viewing a computer monitor; extensive reading along with travel as required.

Sedentary work may require occasionally lifting of up to 10 pounds and/or move up to 25 pounds. This work involves sitting most of the time with walking and sitting.

REQUIRED/ PREFERRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a business, accounting, finance or related field and/or industry certifications (such as CFP, CFA, ChFC, etc.). Must currently hold required FINRA licenses Series 6 or Series 7 and Series 66 (or Series 63 and 65 combined) and the PA Life and A&H license. Also, a minimum of ten (10) years related management and sales experience.
