About the Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated, compassionate, Licensed Practical Nurse with a current Paramedic License/Certification to perform in the role of a supervisor at our Chicago location. This position will operate on a 40-hour shift schedule and will maintain availability as an on-call resource. The Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and clinical functions of the operation, be able to teach, coach and guide the success of the employees assigned to the base, and deliver leadership excellence to our partners. The role will require a patient-first customer service mentality and an ability to communicate clearly and concisely with patients and other team members. We are looking for someone to join our team on a Full-Time Basis.

Requirements (Supervisor role):

  • Responsible for staffing and continuation of operations to ensure contracted coverage for our providers.
  • Responsible to help educate and train current and onboarding LPNs to existing protocols and policies designated by QuikMedic. Also to help guide and integrate the assessment skills from the EMS field to benefit the LPN staff in recognizing and reacting to an acute patient condition.
  • Delivers written and oral communication responds to questions and concerns and produces specific outcomes and impact.
  • Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decisions on resolution.
  • Raises awareness of potential strategic alliances and partnerships. Facilitates reconciliation rather than divisiveness among individuals. Collaborates with others to create satisfactory interpersonal outcomes. Take ownership of scheduling and QA of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for continued unit growth.
  • This is not an all-encompassing list and may require ancillary duties as prescribed by the Area Manager.

Ideal Traits

  • Individuals must have strong, effective interpersonal skills and be able to teach and develop the emergency management services group and employees.
  • Supervisors must be able to work independently and demonstrate accountability to define goals and objectives to achieve desired outcomes. Individuals should have knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, and procedures.
  • Individuals are required to have a strong commitment and will need to provide outstanding services and have a clear customer focus.
  • It is essential for the Supervisor to have strong negotiation skills, be creative, flexible, and innovative in adapting the program to changing customer needs.
  • Depending on location of position, work hours will vary depending on company scheduling needs.
  • This may include overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.
  • Most importantly, be loyal and focused on the success of QuikMedic and the Greater Chicago market.
  • The role of a Supervisor is a very important one as you are the “first line” of leadership for QuikMedic in the Greater Chicago area. The ideal candidate should be levelheaded, logical, and mature. They should be able to reconcile differences within the crews by using rational behavior and a clear thought process. While it is not a prerequisite, having leadership experience is desirable. The candidate should also be punctual and neat in appearance while on duty.

Required Qualifications:

  • LPN Certification with prior experience as an LPN in a direct patient care role
  • Current paramedic license/certification
  • Valid Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • State-required BLS
