The Sicangu Health initiative is one of four community development initiatives under SicanguCo. The mission of the Sicangu Health Initiative is to directly help families build wicozani (good health) and wotakuye (supportive relationships) through hands-on support and skill building. Sicangu Health Initiative runs two main programs: the Food as Good Medicine wellness coaching program and the Wotakuye Wellness School program. Member Duties : The VISTA will build the capacity of Sicangu CDC’s Health Initiative to fulfill this mission by building out an online learning platform for our afterschool and family wellness coaching program, coordinating recruitment and marketing of afterschool and summer programs, and creating materials to support current and future employee development.
