AmeriCorps is Hiring a BMC Vital Village Community Mobilization Coordinator Near Boston, MA

Vital Village Networks (VVN) works to solve intractable social inequities in health and educational outcomes by building local community capacity to promote health and wellbeing through peer-led, community-driven strategies, research, data- sharing, and collective action. The Vital Village neighborhoods of focus: Dorchester, Mattapan, and Roxbury have the highest percentages of children aged 0-5 years old, 20%, 11%, and 11% respectively, and have the highest concentration of children living in poverty within all of Massachusetts (42%). VVN place-based, community engagement network mobilizes collective investment from residents, community organizations and institutions to seed scalable and sustainable community change around child protection and promoting healthy social and emotional development in early childhood.
Member Duties : The Maternal Health Equity/Breastfeeding Scholars Support Community Mobilization Coordinator will work with the Vital Village Network team to support sustainable community leadership with advancing maternal and child health equity. Job specific duties may include: - Collaborating with community Professional Lactation Counselors and Scholars - Increasing civic engagement through social media - Creating a sustainable outreach system to inform communities partners and members on the opportunities provided by WARMLINE, and encouraging them to stayed informed on team meetings, and program events. - Improving the community engagement online platform for the orientation of new WARMLINE volunteers
