The Washington Reading Corps is a national service program that is actively engaged in improving literacy in communities, local schools and learning centers throughout Washington State. In collaboration with the state’s Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, projects in this program focus on tutoring struggling readers in Kindergarten through fourth grade, and preparing young children for successful entry into Kindergarten and literacy achievement in Early Learning Centers. The position is a full-time service commitment (average of 40 hours per week) with a minimum monthly stipend of $1,571.
